Back Again Like I Forgot What Happened!
Hey, you beautiful, generous human — it’s Chelsea Doll againnnn!
Welcome to Year TWO of me voluntarily running 10 miles down Broad Street for Team CCTC’s Run for the Kids. Because apparently “I almost died last year” wasn’t enough to stop me.
First, thank you. Truly. Everyone who supported me in 2025, donated, shared, prayed, and texted. You carried me! I struggled. I questioned everything. I briefly considered catching the SEPTA home at mile 8. But I finished. And this year? I’m back a little stronger… a little wiser… and slightly less dramatic (no promises).
So obviously the logical next step was… to sign up again.
Huge shoutout to my fairy godmother, Lisa Wilmer, my TOP donor in 2025 — who generously gave $100 to support children in Philadelphia. She has been a major part of my village growing up, and I am forever grateful. AND I have to shout out Blair and Jayda who came to the Broad Street Run to cheer me on and witness me barely cross that finish line. I cannot thank you both enough for the love, the hype, and the post-race assisted mobility services. Real MVP behavior.
For over 50 years, Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC) has been serving Philly’s children who’ve experienced trauma, neglect, and serious life challenges. They provide critical mental and behavioral health services that help kids heal — for real. These children need a village. Not the “I’ll pray for you” and disappear kind. A real one.
And here’s why this matters to me: I know what it means to be supported by a community. This city helped raise me. This is my way of giving back, by sacrificing my lungs, my legs, and my pride around mile 8. I’m running again to support Philly kids who need mental and behavioral health services — kids who deserve a strong village behind them.
Here’s what your support can do:
$50 – School supplies for 5 kids (because borrowing pencils daily builds character… but still).
$100 – Field trip snacks for 20 kids (fruit snacks over trauma).
$250 – Therapeutic toys for trauma programs (yes, healing through play is real).
$1,000 – Speech therapy for 16 kids (because every child deserves to be heard).
If you can donate... amazing!
If you can cheer... I’ll take it!
If you can be there in person, a funny or inspirational sign would mean the world—bonus points if it makes me laugh. Your support, whether through a sign, cheers, or just being there, helps more than you know.
Let’s run it back. Pray for my knees.
Love always,
Chelsea Doll
